All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Velma Ada Baker VELMA ADA BAKER Velma, surrounded by 23 loving members of her family, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 27, 2004, after a long illness. Velma had a strong belief in God and was a member of New Harvest Church. She was born in 1921, in Albion, OK, where she began her teaching career and she eventually moved to Fresno where she continued teaching and retired from Fresno Unified School District. Her son, David Baker; and ten brothers and sisters preceded her in death. She will be greatly missed by her son Don and his wife Cheryl; grandchildren, David and Tera Baker, Brodie and Jennifer Johanson, Julie Baker, and Abbie Baker; her daughter- in-law, Tess Baker; her sister, Verta Loveland and her husband Sam; great- grandchildren, Kennady and Keegan Johanson, and Rachel and Thomas Baker; and many, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel at Northwest Church on Thursday, March 4, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. Remembrances may be made to New Harvest Church, 1660 E. Herndon, Ste. 103, Fresno, CA 93720.
