All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Lakewood Memorial Park--Hughson CA Bruce, Olen Winfred OLEN WINFRED BRUCE APRIL 28, 1935 - DEC. 17, 2006 Olen Winfred Bruce, age 71, died December 17, 2006, at Oak Valley Hospital, Oakdale, California after a brief and unexpected illness. He was a resident of Riverbank, California since 1984, operating a used car lot there. He was born in Pushmataha County, Oklahoma, April 28, 1935. A thirty year veteran of the US Navy, serving honorably from 1953 to 1983, he was aboard the USS Rehoboth at the 1958 Pacific Atomic Test Site at Eniwetok and he saw three tours of Vietnam; 1965, 1967 and 1969 aboard minesweepers. He retired from the Navy at the rank of Chief Petty Officer. A widower, he is survived by his daughters, Therese Bachman and Kathy Bruce; his stepson, Wade Godsey and stepdaughter, Carol Maners. He is survived by six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three older sisters and two older brothers. A military funeral will be held graveside, Wednesday, December 27th at 1:00 PM, Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Avenue, Hughson, California.
