All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::NOT LISTED BURLESON, Thera 'Mozelle' Passed away peacefully, after a brief battle with cancer on December 10, 2006, in Roseville. She was 87. Born on July 27, 1919, in Clayton, Okla., to the late Martin and Lily Fishel, she was preceded in death by her siblings Laverne, Eva, and Phoebe. Her brother Martin Fishel resides in San Antonio, Texas. Mozelle was married to the late Leonard Burleson. They moved from Oklahoma to California, where they started an auction business and worked to raise their family. Together, they had five children, Lenora (Bud), Thera (Stanley), Limbo (Tamara) of Roseville, and Glenn (Glenna) of Pensacola, Flor. Their youngest son, Dale (Sherron), passed away in February 2006. The antique auction business flourished under Mozelle's leadership. In 1982, she retired from the business to pursue other interests. She enjoyed numerous hobbies, including golf, sewing, and hand crafting porcelain dolls. She was an avid collector of antique art glass and dolls. She loved traveling with family and with friends and had a special affinity for Africa. in 1982, Mozelle moved from her home in Huntington Beach to Roseville to be closer to her children. The beloved grandmother to 17 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, Mozelle took great pride in her family. Her friendships were many and were very special to her. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Red Hat Society in Sun City, Roseville, where she relished her title of "Queen Mum." Her generous spirit, ready smile, sense of fun, and her loving nature will be missed by those whose lives she touched. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 16, at 6:00 PM at Pleasant Grove Community Church, 1720 Pleasant Grove Blvd., Roseville. A brief reception will follow at the church. In honor of Mozelle and in gratitude for the loving care provided, contributions may be made to Kaiser Hospice, 2025 Morse Ave., Sacramento, CA 95825.
