All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Bakersfield Californian Virgil Willie Dodd February 18, 1935- July 25,2003 On Friday, July 25, 2003, Virgil Willie Dodd entered into heaven and received his well-deserved reward of everlasting life. Virgil fought a long battle with Alzheimers Disease. His life exemplified a life of integrity. He was truly a man of character, and his life demonstrated his love for the Lord. He was always a delight to be around. He was kind-hearted, witty, and a hard worker. He is survived by his wife Pat Dodd, his three children, Rick Dodd, Sandra Bagwell, and Teri Jeffries-Bangert, his daughter-in-law Pamela Dodd, his sons-in-law Ronald Bagwell and Vincent Bangert, his grandchildren Cassandra Hawk-Farris, Karin Grijalva and her husband Isaac Grijalva, Kevin Dodd, Audra Hawk, Chad Bagwell, Todd Bagwell, and Nicholas Bagwell, his great-grandchild Caleb Farris, his father James Dodd, eight brothers and sisters, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends. Virgil was born in Antlers, Oklahoma, on February 18, 1935. He was one of 11 children. His family moved to California when he was a child, and as a teenager he married and went to work in the drilling industry. Due to his dedication, commitment and hard work, his career included: Vice President of Veco Drilling, West Coast General Manager for Marlin Drilling, and Superintendent for Loffland Brothers Drilling, Conoco Oil, and Tiger Drilling. Virgil was well known and respected in his profession. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Alzheimers Foundation.
