Dunning, 89, died Sunday, June 13, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church of Matador with her son-in-law, Dr. C.H. Murphy, director of Missions Tryon Evergreen of Conroe, and Royce Jennings, interim pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in East Mound Cemetery in Matador by Wood- Dunning Funeral Home of Plainview. Mr. Dunning was born in Clarksville. In 1926, he moved to Whiteflat from Antlers, Okla., then moved to Matador in 1943. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Matador Senior Citizens Center. In 1974, Mr. Dunning retired as owner and operator of Dixie Dog Drive Inn and 7-11 grocery store. He also had been employed as a service station attendant. He married Nora Belle Stephens in 1933 at Whiteflat. Survivors include his wife; a son, Kenneth Dunning of Plainview; a daughter, Raynita Murphy of Conroe; seven grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren. Viewing will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Matador. The family will receive friends at the Senior Citizens Center. They suggest memorials be to Building Fund of First Baptist Church.
