Alva lived in the area all his life. He was a member of the Atoka Church of Christ and served as lay preacher when needed. Alva retired after 26 years of service with the Army Ammunition Depot as supervisor and became active with the VFW/DAV. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and gardening and working his ranch. Mr. Hardin is survived by his wife, Dalphonea Dale Hardin of the home; 1 son: Floyd Hardin and wife Ann of Atoka, Oklahoma; nephew: Carl Pool of White Water, Colorado; daughters: Janet Grady and husband Dave of Palmer, Alaska and Alva Jo Cothran and husband John of Josephine, Texas; 3 brothers: Curtis Hardin of Talihina, Oklahoma; Eules Hardin of Clovis, New Mexico; and Virgil Hardin of Atoka, Oklahoma; 1 sister: Tressie Taylor of Lake Jackson, Texas; 4 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: Jasper and Ollie Newton and 3 brothers: Hubert, Heriam and Alonzo Hardin.
