Masters were held Monday Morning May 8, at the First Baptist church at 10 a.m. with the Rev. M. R. Archer of the Nazarene Church officiating. The mixed choir accompanied at the organ by Professor Walter A. Wright sang the old and well known church hymns "When They Ring the Golden Bells"- "Beautiful Garden of Prayer" & "In the Sweet By and By". The deceased was a native of Roaring River, Tenn. He had been a resident of Antlers the last 22 years. He was a member of the Baptist Church in Caddo. Mr. Masters passed away at the hospital in Shawnee, Oklahoma last Saturday May 6, 1950, at 1:45 p.m. Interment was in the City Cemetery of Antlers under the direction of Coffey Funeral Home. Survivors include five sons, W. E. of Delane, Calif; Colman, Dinuba, Calif; Leon, Shawnee; M. E. and Walter of Antlers, four daughters, Mrs. Thomas Berry of Carlsbad, N.M.; Mrs. Sanford Rose of Finley; Mrs. Mack Dufus of Caddo; Mrs. George Taylor of Shawnee, five sisters, two brothers, thirty-to grandchildren one of which he raised, Mrs. Otis Kitchen, of Carlsbad, N.M. and several great grandchildren.
