Contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: By: Linda Anderson September 6, 2001 ************************************************************************ "Antlers American", July 29, 1948 Mrs. Masters Rites Conducted Tuesday At Finley Cemetery Funeral rites for Mrs. Sarah Alice Masters, aged 77 years, were conducted at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning from the Free Will Baptist church in Antlers, the Reverend M.R. Archer of the Nazarene church officiating. Interment was at the Antlers Cemetery, directed by the Coffey Funeral home. Mrs. Masters died shortly after 12 o'clock noon Monday at the family residence in Antlers. She had lived in Antlers 20 years, coming here from Caddo with her husband, W.M. Masters, who survives. Children surviving include Edgar of Delano, Calif.; M. E., Coleman, Walter and Leon, all of Antlers; Mrs. Thomas Berry of Carlsbad, N. Mex.; Mrs. S.S. Rose of Finley; Mrs. A McDuffer of Caddo; Mrs. George Taylor of Shawnee, and a niece, Mrs. Otis Kitchen of Carlsbad, New Mexico. Bearers were Charles Boling, Ted Hill, Barden Taylor, Curtis Parker, and Elmer Burgess. Mrs. Masters, who was born at Birdstown, Tenn., October 15, 1871, was a member of the Corinth Baptist church in Caddo, where the family moved from Tennessee.
