MIDDLEBROOK SERVICES HELD Opal I. Middlebrook was born on September 14, 1913 in Murchison, Texas the daughter of John and Mary Ann Owens and passed away on February 28, 2002 in Antlers, Oklahoma at 88 years of age. Mrs. Middlebrook was a resident of Antlers since 1976 coming from South Gate, California. She was of the pentecostal faith and in her leisure time she enjoyed quilting and fishing. She is survived by 2 sons: Billy Colley and wife Patricia of Long Beach, California and Don Colley of Bell Gardens, California. Two daughters: Shirley Lowinger and husband Ed of Whitter, California and Patsy Bersuch of Broken Bow, Oklahoma. Two brothers: John Owen of Necupla, Colorado and Dennis Owen & wife Jackie of Hesperia, California. Two sisters: Margaret Standridge and Laverne Drinkard both of Antlers, Oklahoma. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 6, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mills-Coffey Chapel with Reverend Andy Reed officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Richard Giles, Ed Lowinger, Tracy Ewing, Shawnna Watson, Greg Dunavant and Travis Ewing. She was laid to rest at the Rattan Cemetery under the direction of Mills & Coffey Funeral Home of Antlers, Oklahoma. The children and family of Opal Ina Middlebrook wish to thank all of the wonderful people at the Antlers Nursing Home, Pushmataha Hospital and the town of Antlers for their care, kindness and love for our Mother during the Golden Years of her life.
