The funeral for Mattie Lee Martindale will be at 10 a.m. Friday at 
Rogue Valley Christian Church in Medford. Interment will be at 
Sunset Cemetery in Lakeview.

Mrs. Martindale, 89, of Medford, died Tuesday (Feb. 18, 2003) at a 
Medford foster care home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Providence Community Health 
Foundation, Hospice, 1111 Crater Lake Ave., Medford, OR 97504, or 
Good Samaritan Foster Care Home, 801 S. Columbus Ave., Medford, OR 
97501.

She was born Sept. 6, 1913, in Antlers, Okla., to Ace and Christina 
(Duncan) Dunkin. She grew up in Oklahoma. On Aug. 23, 1930, in 
Dunbar, Okla., she married Bud E. Martindale, who preceded her in 
death. They lived in Oklahoma until the Dust Bowl forced them to 
move to Oregon, where they settled in Lakeview. She lived there 
until she moved to Klamath Falls in 1970, and to Medford in 1986.

Mrs. Martindale was a homemaker.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and fishing.

Survivors include two sons, Delbert, Medford, and Stanley, Roseburg; 
two daughters, Florence Powell, Medford, and Phreda Nelson, Klamath 
Falls; a sister, Bernice Jones, Antlers, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; 
and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, 
Manuel and Meredith Martindale; four brothers and two sisters.
