Contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Roni Gortemiller October 13, 2002 ************************************************************************ Antlers American, April 10, 1986 STERLING ROSE Funeral services for Sterling Rose, Antlers, were held Thursday, April 3, 1986 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mills and Coffey Chapel. Rev. Ben Hotubbee and Rev. Bob Childers officiated at the ceremony with interment at the Antlers City Cemetery. Rose was 83, and was born May 14, 1902 at Marshall, Arkansas and died April 1, 1986 at the Pushmataha County Hospital, Antlers. He was a mechanic, retired from the civil service, and Oklahoma State Highway Department. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and a Woodmen of the World. He had lived in this area for the past 55 years. Surviving him are his wife Johnnie of the home; two sons: Charles Rose of Paris, Texas; and Larry Rose of Dallas, Texas; two daughters: Jerry Wilson and Joan Brown both of Omaha, Nebraska; one brother: Dempsey Rose of Oklahoma City; three sisters, Lilly Rice of Bartlesville, Lida Maze of Ponca City, and Lena Foster of Taos, New Mexico. He also had eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Arrangements were made by the Mills and Coffey Funeral Home of Antlers.
