Rember was born July 21, 1907 in Canadian, Oklahoma and passed away on March 14, 2002 in Antlers at the age of 94 years of age. Mr. Rember had been a resident of Moyers for the past 82 years, moving there in the 1920's from Page, Oklahoma. He was of the Baptist faith and was a Sunday School Superintendent at Jumbo. He served as a School Board member at John's Valley and was Moyers local historian. He enjoyed playing cards and dominoes and loved winning. Mr. Rember loved to sit on his front porch and wave at everyone who past by his house. He was known by his wave by everyone, and even strangers who past knew him by his wave; some would even stop just to talk. He really loved to visit with people. He leaves behind to cherish his memory two sons: Kenneth Rember and wife Marjorie of Antlers, Oklahoma and Frank Rember and wife Delores of Atoka, Oklahoma; two daughters: Shirley Adams and husband Walter of Moyers and Catherene Lewis and husband Orval of Jumbo, Oklahoma; one daughter-in-law: Arcelia Rember of Paris, Texas; two brothers: James D. Rember of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Fred Rember and wife Dorothy of Felt, Oklahoma; one sister: Alene Sims and husband Lloyd of Nashville, Tennessee; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents William Thomas and Annie Amanda Rember; wife Olie (Richardson) Rember; 3 sons: Charley Rember, Eugene Rember and Jackie Rember; great-grandchildren: Mindy Adams and Wally Adams. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 19, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at the Moyers Baptist Church with Reverend Buck Yant officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Wayne Lewis, Ben Lewis, Ken Rember, Bill Rember, Doug Rember, Brad Adams, Rod Adams, Will Rember and Charley Rember. Honorary pallbearers included: Dewey Rember, Scott Adams, John Duncan, Eric Myers and John Faubion. He was laid to his final resting place at the Jumbo Cemetery under the direction of the Mills-Coffey Funeral Home of Antlers, Oklahoma. _____________________________________
