Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in Eleventh St. Baptist Church with the Rev. Glen Switzer officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Mrs. Shaffer was born Dec. 21, 1914. She had lived in the Shamrock area most of her life and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1995; and a son, William Morris, in 1976. Survivors include four sons, Wesley Jay Shaffer of Clayton, Okla., Gilbert Earl Shaffer of Norman, Okla., Kenneth Charles Shaffer and John Phillip Shaffer, both of Shamrock; three daughters, Billie Ruth Kasid and Mary LaVerne Cain, both of Amarillo, and Nelda Jo Poole of Shamrock; two sisters, Maxine Pittser of Santa Anna, Calif., and Opal Perkins of Sedalia, Mo.; 22 grandchildren; and 47 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Eleventh St. Baptist Church building fund in Shamrock. Amarillo Globe-News, March 19, 2002
