ERVIN P. SAMS SERVICES HELD Ervin P. Sams was born on August 18, 1924 in Prague, Oklahoma and passed away on November 14, 2001 in Antlers, Oklahoma at the age of 74 years. Mr. Sams a long time resident of the Antlers area was a member of the Little Cedar Baptist Church, a Sunday School Director, and a member of the VFW. He enjoyed traveling and gardening. He is survived by his wife Ruby Sams of Antlers, Oklahoma; 2 sons Michael Sams of Silver Springs, Nevada and Larry Sams and wife Sue of Los Osos, California; 2 daughters Sherry Sams of Carson City, Nevada and Phyllis Streitz and husband Robert of St. Louis, Missouri; 1 sister Buelah May Hobbs and husband Roy of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren: Richard, Danielle, Samantha, Tamera, Phillip, Robert, Cheri, and Christine; 19 great grandchildren and 1 nephew Gregg Hobbs. He was preceded in death by his parents: Virgil and Sophia Sams and 3 sons: Samuel Wable, Joseph Wable and John Wable. Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 27, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at the Mills & Coffey Chapel with Reverend J. W. Ray officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Weldon Whiteside, Finnis Amend, James "Bucky" Bryant, Bob Clifton, Virgil Silvey, Don Kinkade, Roy Kinkade and David Kinkade. Honorary pallbearers included: Homer Sams, Burton Speck, B. W. Ashlock, Mike Wood, Carl Winfield, Jerry Stephens and Ed Masters.
