Contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Teresa Young April 10, 2002 ************************************************************************ "Push County Times", January 29, 2002, Page 6 MARY FRANCES TIMS SERVICES HELD Mary Frances Tims was born on April 19, 1918 in Bixby, Oklahoma and passed away on January 11, 2002 in McAlester, Oklahoma at the age of 83 years. Mrs. Tims moved to Antlers with her family when she was 15 years old. She was raised in the Methodist Church and had attended the 1st Christian Church. Mrs. Tims was an artist and art teacher. She was an experienced gardener who had worked in a greenhouse and raised vegetables and flowers of all kinds, but she enjoyed raising roses. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a giving friend. She leaves behind to cherish her memory three sons: Michael Ben Tims of Houston, Texas; Stephen David Tims of Tallahasse, Florida; and Mark Wayne Tims of Rattan, Oklahoma; one daughter: Mary Lynn Tims Maxwell of Antlers, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents: Mr. and Mrs. Robert Campbell; her husband: Ben Tims; three brothers: Eugene K. Campbell, Kenneth Campbell and Robert Campbell; three sisters: Hazel Dickey, Lucille Stickle and Doris Alexander. Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 16, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church with D. Brent Franks and Reverend Bill Worden officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Otis Martin, Bruce Smith, Ron Sharp, Johnny Brandon, Bob Bouffleur and Gene Allen. Honorary pallbearers were: Martin Taylor, Herbert Taylor, John Brandon, Ed Wallace, Tom Wells, Billy Alec Jackson, Leon Wayman, Joe Mills, Mike Baggett and Randy Moyers. She was laid to her final resting place at Antlers City Cemetery. _____________________________________
