WEAVER, JR. SERVICES HELD Henry David "H.D." Weaver, Jr. was born on September 8, 1915 in Valliant, Oklahoma and passed away on January 3, 2001 at Pushmataha Hospital in Antlers, Oklahoma at the age of 85 years. H. D. grew up in southeastern Oklahoma and was a 1936 graduate of Antlers High School. He later attended Murray State, Southeastern State and the University of Oklahoma where he received his Masters Degree in education. H. D. workded for many years as a teacher, coach, and in administration in Antlers, Moyers, Soper, and Nashoba. H. D. always had a passion for team and outdoor sports. He was especially fond of baseball and played through-out his life from backyard sandlot ball and had worked for the Cincinnati Reds as a scout. H. D. was also an avid quail hunter and was an experienced outdoorman and bird dog handler. H. D. served his country in WWII in the U. S. Army Air Force. He served from 1942 through 1946 and attained the rank of staff sergeant. H. D. was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Red Red Rose and was a Master & 32-Degree Mason. He is survived by his wife Virginia of the home in Antlers, Okla.; 1 son: David Bruce Weaver of Oletha, Kansas; 1 sister: Opal Bridgeman of Edmond, Okla.; 1 granddaughter Lee of Antlers, Okla. and 1 great grandchild Taia of Antlers, Okla. Mr. Weaver was preceded in death by his parents: Henry D. Sr. and Minnie Bell (Ernest) Weaver. Memorial services were held on Monday, January 8, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Galeda Mannschreck officiating. Burial was held at Oddfellows Cemetery under the direction of Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Antlers, Oklahoma.
