Contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Teresa Young June 29, 2001 ************************************************************************ "Push County Times", January 9, 2001, Page 5 JOE SIMON WATSON SERVICES HELD Lifelong Antlers resident, Joe Simon Watson passed away on December 27, 2000 in Carl Albert Indian Hospital in Ada, Oklahoma at the age of 69 years. Joe was born on April 22, 1931 in Divide, Oklahoma and was a member of the Bobb-Myers United Indian Methodist Church. He served his country in the U. S. Marine Corps. He was an Antlers High School graduate, class of 1952 and attended SOSU in Durant. Joe enjoyed softball, watching sports events, fishing, and spending time with family and grandchildren. Mr. Watson is survived by his wife: Laura Watson of the home; one son Jay Watson and wife Sheila of Antlers, Okla.; one daughter: Denise Taylor of Dallas, Texas and two brothers: Mitchell Williamson of Cushing, Okla. and Jonas Watson of Midwest City, Okla.; two sisters: Frances Fulson of Snow, Okla. and Janie Webster of Snow, Okla.; and three grandchildren: Kris and Trevor Watson and Rachel Johnson. He is preceded in death by his parents: Joe and Agnes (Morris) Watson. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 30, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mills-Coffey Chapel in Antlers with Reverend Jeff Frazier, Reverend Glenn Johnson, and Reverend Bertrum Bobb officiating. Serving as pallbearers were: Howard Johnson, Jr., Herman Johnson, Jerry Don Johnson, Billy Joe Johnson, Floyd Fulsom, LeeRoy Webster, James Watson, Richard Williamson, and Robert Williamson. Honorary pallbearers included: Jim Frazier, Don Baskins, Jimbo Crosley, David Cly, Pete Noah, J. D. Ward, Thomas Smithson, Donnie Hammons, Johnnie May, Ron Clary, Ron Hammons, Arnold Taylor, Leslie Jacobs, and Norman Weatherford. Burial took place at the Nashoba Indian Cemetery.
