Contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Teresa Young July 18, 2001 ************************************************************************ "Push County Times", June 26, 2001, Page 5 JOHN "DEMP" WILKINS SERVICES HELD John "Demp" Wilkins passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2001 at the Pushmataha Hospital in Antlers, Oklahoma. He was born on September 17, 1931 in Spencerville, Oklahoma. The son of John B. Wilkins and Hatti "Earthman" Wilkins. He moved back from Dallas in 1984 and has lived in the Antlers area since. He was a builder of homes and has built 2000 homes in his lifetime. After retiring from building, he became a cattle rancher in the Antlers area. He also was a member of the First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carol Wilkins, and two sisters, Lorene Harris and Imogene Cooper. He is survived by 4 sons: Steve Wilkins of Livermore, California; Brian Wilkins of Dallas, Texas; Gregory Wilkins of Dallas, Texas; and Todd Wilkins of Dallas, Texas as well as 3 grandchildren. Funeral services was held on Monday, June 18, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Antlers with Reverend Sam Dyer officiating. Burial was held at Spencerville Cemetery under the direction of Mt. Olive Funeral Home located at 208 West Main in Antlers, Oklahoma. _________________________________________________________________
