Clinesmith homesteaded land at Cheyenne Oklahoma along with their grand-daughter Lulu Rutherford and her husband William Franklin Rutherford. In 1903 Eli became quite ill and W.F. Rutherford became guardian over him and his property. In 1904 Eli died and is buried at Cheyenne Oklahoma. He left his widow Sarah and she lived with the Rutherfords till her death in 1906. She is also buried at Cheyenne Oklahoma. In 1906 Lulu sold the property to William R Casady for $900.00. Some how she ended back up owning the property and resold it in 1943 to A.L. Thurman. There are many errors in the deeds and other paper work on record at Roger Mills pretaining to this property. It was listed as SE quarter of section 25 ownship 13 North Range 24 W.I.M. containing 160 acres. Many of my older cousins went there from New Libert where they would all go for outings and picnics. In some of the papers it refers to Sarah Clinesmith as C.A. her name was Sarah P. Clinesmith. It also says Lulu was born Clinesmith and was only living heir besides her Grandmother Sarah.
