Frances Hensley Ackley was born on March 28, 1906, in Indian Territory, the daughter of Carroll and Kity L. Blount Hensley. She died on Oct. 27, 1986 in Sayre Memorial Hospital, at the age of 80. She was married to Reed D. Ackley on July 12, 1924 in Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, OK and made their home on a farm near Hammon. Reed preceded her in death on April 25, 1958. She was a member of the Hammon Church of Christ. She devoted her life to working with the Cheyenne-Arapaho Indian people. Mrs. Ackley served many years as Treaurer of the Red Hill Cemetery Assn. She is survied by two daughers, June and Joan Tomberlin, one son-in-law, Leon Tomberlin, all of Hammon; three grandsons and their wives, Mike and Pam Tomberlin, Dean and Terri Tomberlin all of Hammon and David and Kay Tomberlin of Duncan; six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, her husband, one brother, one sister, one daughter, Jean and one granddaughter. Burial was in the Red Hill Cemetery, Hammon, Roger Mills County, OK
