The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ==================================================================== Surnames: Ashworth Funeral services for Minnie Susan Ashworth, longtime Hammon resident, were conducted from the Church of Christ at Hammon at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov 10, 1981. Burial was at Red Hill Cemetery, Hammon, Roger Mills County under the direction of Martin Funeral Home. Mrs. Ashworth was born in Whitesboro, Tex., on August 5, 1881. She attained the age of 100 years, 3 months, and 1 day. She came to Oklahoma with her parents when she was a young girl. She was a longtime member of the Hammon Church of Christ. She was married to John Ashworth in 1901 and he preceded her in death on January 1, 1950. She lived most all of her life in Roger Mills and Washita Counties. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Opal Turner of Hammon, Audrey Phillips of Pacifica, Calif., Mrs. Myrth Crim of Gualala, Calif., Mrs. Winnie Phillips of Waterford, Calif., one son O.M. "Pete" Ashworth of Elk City; 12 grandchildren, including Mrs. Reva Barrow, and Louise Guner of Canute; 13 great grandchildren; and 18 great- great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by two sons, Dr. William P. Ashworth and Foy Ashworth, one daughter, Maurine Ashworth; one granddaughter; one grandson; and one great- granddaughter.
