The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ==================================================================== Surnames: Atha, Hambrook Charles Rex Atha was born January 5, 1921 northeast of Sweetwater to Eddie Lee and Calvin William Atha and died Wednesday, March 12, 1997 in his home northwest of Sayre at the age of 76. Rex attended Brookside school before transferring to Sweetwater School. He married Letty Hambrook on January 24, 1942 in the Sweetwater Assembly of God Church and he farmed before enlisting in the U.S. Army Air Corps, returned home to farm. In 1965, he began carrying the mail and continued until he retired 6 months ago. He was preceded in death by his parents and five sisters. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Rose Chapel officiated by Ray Smart. Interment will be in the Brookside Cemetery, Roger Mills County, OK under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Survivors include: his wife, Letty of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Cindy Atha of Cheyenne; two grandchildren, Darren Atha, and Dawn Atha; one brother, C.W. Atha and wife, Annie Belle of Cheyenne; one brother-in-law, Arthur "Chick" Barker of sayre; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
