Letty grew upin the Grimes community. She attended school at Needmore and Grimes before graduating from Cheyenne High School. Letty married Charles Rex Atha on January 24, 1942 north of Sweetwater Assembly of God Church. She and Rex farmed, but during World War II, she worked at the Home Bakery in Sayre. In later years, she was employed at the Owl Drug Store. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 1 brother, Virgil Hambrook. She is survived by 1 son and daughter in law Allen and Cindy Atha, Cheyenne, OK; 2 grandchildren and their fiancee's Darren Atha and Marka Sadler, Dawn Atha and Nathan Kring; her caregiver, Mahota Stamper, 2 brothers in law C.W. Atha and wire Annie of Cheyenne, Ok and Arthur "Chick" Barker of Sayre, Ok and a host of other relatives and friends. Services was at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, 1999 at the Rose Chapel officated by Ray Smart, and assisted by Larry Parvin. Interment was in the Brookside Cemetery, Roger Mills County, OK under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
