The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ==================================================================== Ruthie Nell Atkinson Ruthie Nell Atkinson was born February 17, 1925 in Livingston, TN to Lockie and Millard Walker and passed away January 17, 1995 in the Clinton Regional Hospital at the age of 69 years and 11 months. Ruthie was raised in Highland and Rickman, TN and later went to work in the Cooksville shirt factory. She met Otto E. Atkinson while he was preaching at a revival in Rickman and they later married on April 18, 1948 in Linvingston, TN. Ruthie and Otto lived in several western Oklahoma communities, mainly the Sweetwater area, before moving to Erick in 1986 to make their home. Ruthie had been a member of the Meridian Extension Homemakers Club and the Eastern Star. Her hobbies included reading her Bible and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed needlepoint and raising flowers, both of which she loved to enter in the Roger Mills County Harvest Festival. She was a member of the Erick United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and 2 brothers. She is survived by 3 daughters Barbara Magness, Lawton, OK, Ruby Hutson, Claremore, OK and Joyce Napier, Montgomery, AL; 2 sons, Elbert, Sweetwater, OK and William, Plainview, TX; 13 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Services were held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 20, 1995 in the Sweetwater First Baptist Church officiated by Elbert Shumaker and assisted by Marilynn Schellhamer and Ed Wrather. Interment was in the Mulberry Cemetery, Sweetwater, Roger Mills County, OK
