The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ==================================================================== Surnames: Atwood, Kilpatrick, Winstade James Atwood was born near Sonora, Ky., February 9, 1843, died at his home near Dempsey, September 18, 1925, being 82 years, 8 months and 9 days old. He served in the Union army 3 years and was a member of Co. B, 2nd Ky, calvary under Captain Kilpatrick. He was married to Miss Martha Winstade January l, 1868 who preceded him to the great beyond February 22, 1905. To this union were born seven children all of whom are living except one son, Oswold. Mr. Atwood was a member of the Christian church and was loved and respected by all. Our old soliders of the civil war are fast passing away. a few more years and they will have passed to that eternal home where wars are no more. Life's race well done.
