He passed from this life Thursday, Dec. 16, 1982 at his home. Mr. Ator came to Oklahoma at the age of 12 with his parents and they lived in Herring, OK. On November 30, 1924 he was married to Alma Alwilda Ayers in Cheynne. In 1927 they moved to Durham and lived there until his death. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Magnolia Baptist Church in Crawford. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1977, his parents, 2 brothers, 1 grandson and 2 great grandchildren. Survivors include 1 daughter, Armanda Ann Crandall of Higgins, TX; 1 son, Leon Ator of Amarillo, TX; 4 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and 4 sisters, Grace Tuggle of Grandry, TX, May Rogers of Lipan, TX, Lessie Adcock of Salem, Oregon and Ocie Broom of Corning, CA. Funeral services were conducted Monday, Dec. 20, 1982 at 10:30 a.m. by A.L. Martin in the Magnolia Baptist Church with interment in Silent Home Cemetery, Roll, Roger Mills County, OK. In charge of arrangements was Rose Chapel Funeral Services of Cheyenne. Pallbearers were Lowell Malson, Howasrd Metcalf, Willis Malson, Bob Manhart, Donald Cockrell and Glen Cockrell.
