Tate was born in Cleburn County, Alabama April 14, 1850. In 1867 she was united in marriage to William F. Adrin. In 1860 they came to Texas, locating in Somerville County. In 1903 she came to Oklahoma, her husband having died many years before. Her home has been in Elk City for some 34 years. She was the mother of seven children, one of whom died in infancy, and one at the agoe of 9. J.A. Adrian of Los Angeles, California the oldest surviving child was not present at the time of the funeral. The children present were: L.E. Adrian, Trent, Texas; Mrs. W.B. Kendall, Strong City, Oklahoma; M.L. Adrian, Colorado, Texas; and Mrs. Stella Adrin of Elk City, Oklahoma. There also survives 33 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. For many years Mrs. Adrian has been a member of the Church of Christ. She departed this life November 12, 1937, having attained the age of 87 years, 6 months and 25 days.
