He was united in Marriage to Truly jane Carpenter May 10, 1890 and to this union 5 Sons and 7 daughters were born. His wife, 3 sons and 1 daughter preceded him in death. He was a long time member of the Church of Christ. In 1893 he made the "Run" into Oklahoma and staked a claim where Perry Okalhoma now is. He helped build several building there. In 1899 he homesteaded North of Elk City and has made his home in Western Oklahoma since, moving to Elk City about 25 years ago. The survivors include 6 daughters, 2 sons, 9 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
