Alexander died at his home near Grimes, Friday, April 7, 1911 at 2 o'clock p.m., after a sickness of eight days, of pneumonia. The funeral services were held at the school house in Berlin, conducted by the pastor of the Methodist Church, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Berlin cemetery, Berlin, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. At the grave the Odd Fellows took charge, he having been a member of that order in Berlin. The deceased was born May 4, 1850, in Alabama, so would have been 61 years of age next month. He moved from south Missouri to Oklahoma about five years ago and had made a large acquaintance. A very large crowd of friends and neighbors attended the funeral, showing the great respect in which he was held. He was a good man. He leaves a wife and eleven children, six children being with him at the time of his death. They have the sympathy of all in their bereavement. (Note the difference in name William H. & William R.)
