Louis Ave., Whittier, California, passed away in Corona, California Community Hospital Sunday, August 28, 1966 of a heart attack. Mrs. Allen was born March 27, 1876, in Leitchfield, Kentucky, and came to Oklahoma in 1896. She was married Januaary 17, 1897, to John F. Allen at Matha, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death July 14, 1952. Mr. and Mrs. Allen resided in the Blair community until 1923 when they moved to Hammon, later in 1943, they moved to Whittier, California. Mrs. Allen was brought back to Hammon where funeral services were held Thursday, September 1, 1966 in the First Baptist Church, with Rev. H.P. Elliott officiating. She was laid to rest in the Blair cemetery. She was a charter member of the First Baptist church of Blair. Surviving are two sons, James B. of Hammon and Granvil C., of Los Angeles, California; Three daughtersd, Bessie A. Odam of the home, Annie T.Gage, Elsinore, California, and Kathleen A. Crook, Lakewood, California; one sister, Lydia M. Allsup, Riverside, California, and Kathleen A. Crook, Lakewood, California; one sister, Lydis M. Allsup, Riverside, California. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Mrs. Emma Allen, eight grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, seven great, great-grandchildren, several niecs and nephews, other relatives and friends.
