The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ==================================================================== Surnames: Allen, Lewis Funeral services for Eva Allen will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the First Baptist Church in Hammon with Rev. Bart Montgomery and Rev. Mike McDougan officiating. Burial will follow in the Red Hill Cemetery, Hammon, Roger Mills County under the direction of Martin Funeral Home. Mrs. Allen was born Oct. 13, 1898 in Dry Fork, Mo., and died Wednesday at the age of 92. She attended school at Gladden, Mo., and spent her early life in the area. She carried the mail by horseback and also taught school therel. She was married to James B. Allen on March 24, 1920 at Salem, MO. They came to Blair, where they owned and operated a cafe for several years. Mr. Allen's occupation in pipeline construction caused them to live in Texas, Kansas, and Oklahoma. In 1929 they moved to Pie Flat where they lived until moving to Hammon in the early 1960's where she had lived since. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church and Eastern Star. Survivors included three daughters: Wanda L. Stalcup and her husband Jack of Hammon, Sue Flick and her husband Oscar Ray of Hammon, and LaVerne Walton and her husband Jack of Elk City; one daughter-in- law, Mrs. Fern Allen of Chickasha, one sister-in-law, Kathleen Crook of Lakewood, Calif. Also 8 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Her husband James preceded her in death on Sept 3, 1983. She was also preceded in death by one son, James L., and one granddaughter, Connie Sue Flick, 5 brothers and 2 sisters.
