(near Nocona) in Montague Co. She was the daughgter of Victor Calvin and Katie Elizabeth Wright Walker. Bernice was the oldest of six children. In Nov. of 1909 the family moved to Oklahoma in a covered wagon. They settled on a farm ten miles east of Roll, Okla. in Roger Mills County. On Oct 15, 1930, she married Eben N. Allen. To this union one son was born. They made their home on a farm west of Leedey until May of 1966 when Bernice and Eben moved into Leedey. Bernice gave her life to the Lord at the age of seventeen. In 1937 she joined the Nazarene Church at Three Corner, later in 1962 becoming a member of The Brethren In Christ Church at Red Star of which she is still a member. The past few years she has attended the Assembly of God Church in Leedey. She was preceded in death by her parents, Katie and Victor Walker, husband Eben, one sister Gladys and brother, Wilson. She is survived by her son, Walker Allen and wife, Wanda of Leedey; three grandsons, Gregg Allen and wife, Terre of Savannah, Georgia, Gary Allen and wife, Karen of Wichita Falls, TX and Phillip Allen of Hilton Head, South Carolina; one great-grandson, four great granddaughgters; also one sister, Mary Ellen Hester, Concord, Calif; two brothers, Henry Walker, Roll, Okla., and Calvin Walker, Jones, Okla; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services for Bernice Lois Allen were held Sat., June 10, 1989 at 2:30 p.m. in the Assembly of God Church in Leedey, Okla., with Rev. Frank Boyett and Rev. Calvin Walker officiating. Casket bearers were: Kevin Cates, Delbert Gamble, Robert Green, Edward Howard, Emmitt Kauk, Leroy Moseley. Honorary bearers were: Eugne Blackketter, Larry Ford, George Green, Jimmy Harrel, Clyde McClean, Marvin Quattlebaum, John Steward, Jr., Weldon Teague. Interment followed in the Red Star Cemetery, Roger Mills County, OK under the direction of Shaw Funeral Home of Leedey, Okla.
