Anderson, 43, prominent Enid man and former automobile dealer, 431 South Van Buren, died in an Enid hospital Thursday night from head injuries received when the car in which he and his family were riding over-turned three times near Lahoma. Mrs. Anderson, their daughter Marjorie, 16, and their son Jim Lee 10, escaped with only minor scratches and bruises. Mr. Anderson was thrown about 50 feet from the car. The left rear tire on the Anderson automobile blew out and the car overturned three times coming to a stop on its top near the highway, the highway patrol reported. The family had recently sold their furniture and were on their way to visit relatives at Strong City, Okla., before moving to Portland, Oregon. The accident occurred one mile east of Lahoma and 11 miles west of Enid. Mr. Anderson had lived in Enid for the past six years and came here from Hennessey where he was in the automobile business. Before living at Hennessey, Anderson lived for a short time at Kingfisher where he moved from Strong City. The daughter was driving the car at the time of the accident. Besides the wife and children, he is survived by one brother, Jack A. Anderson, Clinton, his mother and father, William Anderson, Strong City four sisters, Mrs. Jack Powers, Durham, Mrs. Robert Higgins, Arnett, Mrs Jess Sullins, Cordell and Mrs. Y.D. Erwin, Clinton. Orren A. Anderson was born at Redmoon in Roger Mills County, Oklahoma, Feb. 11, 1898. He moved with his parents to Strong City at the age of 17 years. On March 15, 1919 he was married to Miss Alida Guernsey of Strong City. He was employed by the Herring and Young Mercantile Company in Strong City from 1918 to 1926. In 1926 he moved from Strong City to Kingfisher, Oklahoma. Funeral services were held at the Baptist Church in Enid, Saturday morning. Short services were held at the burial site in Strong City cemetery, Strong City, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma Saturday afternoon, June 20, 1942. A large crowd of friends and relattives attended the services.
