The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ====================================================================== George Walker Andrews was born June 14, 1918 in Herring, Oklahoma to Lulla Townsend and Fred Murl Andrews and passed away March 24, 1999 in the Sayre Memorial Hospital at the age of 80 years, 9 months and 10 days. Walker grew up in the Herring and Cheyenne communities. He married Sylvia Robinson May 1, 1937. He worked as a steam fitter during World War II with the Merchant Marines in California. After the war Walker became a minister and worked as a carpenter. He had built several churches in Oklahoma. Sylvia passed away June 19, 1977. He married Corena Fay Andrews on June 18, 1979 in Mustang, Oklahoma. They lived in Marietta, Oklahoma before moving to Sayre in 1987 to make their home and Walker pastored the Sayre Hillside Holiness Church. He was a member of the Sayre Hillside Holiness Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, 4 brothers, 1 sister, 1 grandson and 1 son Thomas Mac. He is survived by his wife Corena of the home; 4 sons, Firm Walker Andrews, Marietta, Oklahoma, George Howard Andrews, ardmore, Oklahoma, John Albert Andrews, Marietta, Oklahoma and Donnie Usher, Washington, Oklahoma; 1 daughter Tresa Usher, Snyder Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Services were at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 27, 1999 at the Rose Chapel officiated by Gary Usher, and assisted by G.L. Usher. Interment was in the Sayre-Doxey Cemetery, Sayre, Beckham County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, Ok 1-Apr-1999
