Memorial services were held Sunday, August 29, 1982 at 2:30 p.m. in the Sweetwater Baptist Church, with Ross Anderson and c.R. Tucker officiating. Burial was in the Mulberry Cemetery, under the direction of Rose chapel Funeral Services of Sayre. Garrett was born July 5, 1907, in Denton, TX. He moved with his parents to Wheeler, TX in 1912. Later he moved to the New Liberty community, then on to Sweetwater where he farmed for many years. Mr. Anderson married Ila Markley, December 21, 1962, at Cordell, OK. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sweetwater. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son, and 1 brother. He is survived by his wife, Ila of the home; 1 son, Herschel Anderson of Sweetwater; 2 step-daughters, Norman Zellmer of Stafford, TX, and Wanda Martin of Ponca City, OK; 3 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 7 step-grandchildren, 4 step-great grandchildren; and 1 sister, Stella Jenkins of Sweetwater.
