He was found dead at a lake near Cheyenne, Sunday, October 25, 1965. His death probably occured October 23, 1965. His wife preceded him in death. He had resided in Roger Mills County since the 1890's. Surviving are six children daughters and five sons. They are Ola Williams, Gridley, California; Ruby McFarland, Oklahoma City; Nellie McClellan, Strong City; Veryl Culver, Eureka, California; Helen Ellewood, Eureka, California; Mary Patton, Ulysses, Kansas; Charles Archer, Fresno, California; Lonnie Archer, Artesia, New Mexico; Orval Kirksey, Fortuna, California, Keen Kirksey, Pottervalley, California and Burwin Archer, Leedey. One brother, John Archer of Hammon survives. Also two sisters, Allie Boulden, Glendale, Arizona and Grace Sticklles of Igo, California. Funeral services were held at Strong City Baptist church of which he was a member, Wednesday, October 27, 1965 with Rev. Loyd Martin in charge. Committal was in the Strong City cemetery, Strong City, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under direction of Scroggins and Son. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, Ok
