Archer died at the Veterans hospital in Oklahoma City, Tuesday, October 26, 1971. Funeral services were held at the Cheyenne Baptist Church Firday, October 29, 1971 at 2 p.m. with Rev. A.L. Oden, Elk City, officiating. Mr. Archer was married in 1938 to Nina Bell Barnard, Cheyenne at Cheyenne. Born October 8, 1918 at Strong City, Mr. Archer moved to Cheyenne from Strong City in 1936. He was a WW II veteran. Survivors are his mother, Mrs. Kizzie Archer of Cheyenne; one daughter, Ivalee Smith, Amarillo, Tex; one son, James Charles of Denver, Colo.; four grandchildren; one sister, Mrs Edith Andrews, Cheyenne; Three brothers, Jake of Cheyenne, Earl of Strong City, Willie of Elk City Pallbearers were Robert Trammell, Joe Redden, Lloyd Lee Martin, G.B. Payne, Ralph Kirk, Leon Gilliland. Interment was in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, OK with the Cheyenne American Legion conducting grave side rites.
