A.L. Martin officating. Burial will be in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, OK under the direction of Savage Funeral Home. Willie Archer was born on October 30, 1914 in Roger Mills County, Oklahoma, the son of Emory and Kizzie Musick Archer, and died December 6, 1991 in the Elk City Community Hospital at the age of 77. Mr. Archer attended school in Strong City, Oklahoma. He served in the United States Army in the European Theatre during World War II. He was a heavy equipment operator in the construction industry and worked for Roger Mills County for 18 years. Mr. Archer had lived in Elk City for the past two years. Prior to that, he had resided in Sayre for four years. His hobbies were fishing, hunting and gardening. His religious preference was the Church of the Nazarene. Willie Archer is survived by five children, June Shepard of Wichita, Kansas, Johnny and Ricky Archer, both of Sayre, Terry Archer of Elk City and Chiquita Dodson of Stillwell, Oklahoma; one brother, Earl Archer of Strong City; 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Edith and Edna, and two brothers, Jake and J.C.
