Interment will follow in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of the Martin Funeral Home of Elk City. Blane Archer was born April 21, 1919 in Roger Mills County, Oklahoma to Oscar Calvvin and Olive Marie Pike Archer and passed away Monday October 6, 2003 at the age off 84. He was raised in the Leedey areaa and served his country during WW II in the Eurpoean Theatre with the US Army where he was a double Purple Heart recipent. He was married to Evelyn Alverta Ward on July 30, 1945 at Wheeler, Texas. They lived in several places folloowing his employment with Seismograph before settling in Weatherford, Oklahoma in 1957. He worked for Shotts Motor Company as a mechanic and then retired from Dresser Magcobar after some 17 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a daughter and 6 brothers and sisters. Survivors include two daughters: Vickie Cornell of Lindsey, Oklahoma and DeVon Luwstffield of Hydro, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great grandchild; four sisters, Jewel Enyar of Alice, Texas, Ruby Montgomery of Portland, Oregon, Nola Walker of Bend, Oregon, Lucille Martini of Destin, Florida, and a brother, O.C. "Buck" Archer, Moab, Utah.
