William R. Alexander who was reported in another paper to be very low, died at his home April 7th, 1911 and was buried in the Berlin Cemetery. He was born in Alabama in 1850. Uncle Bill, as he was familiarly known was a favorite among all who knew him. In October 1906, he movedc with his family to Oklkahoma where he lived to the time of his death. Uncle Bill wasd conscious that his days on earth were drawing to a close. To his family and friends he expressed sorrow at parting with them but he said he was not afraid to die. The day before his death he told his friends that stood around his bedside that he saw the death angel and it would not be long ere he would be in glory. He leaves five children by his second marriage, Roy, Ashford, Bart, Linnie and Leslie, all of whom are at home with their mother. He also leaves twoi step children. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and a kind neighbor. He leaves a loving wife, mother, one brother, one sister, twelve children, two step children and a host of relatives and friends to mourn their loss. Funeral services were held at the Berlin School House, conducted by Rev. Yoakum of Sayre and the members of the Odd Fellow Lodge of which he was a member. A large crowd accompanied the body from the home and several joined on the road. The remains were laid to rest in the Berlin Cemetery to await the call of the resurrection morn.
