All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Red Hill Cemetery--Hammon OK Albert Leroy Allen September 20, 1934 - December 23, 2020 Obituary by Martin-Dugger Funeral Home Albert Leroy Allen, 86, was born September 20, 1934 in Hammon, Oklahoma. He is the son of Rosa Ethel "Rosie" (Pinkston) Allen and Jesse Albert Allen. Leroy passed away December 23, 2020 at Bell Avenue in Elk City, Oklahoma surrounded by the people who loved and cared for him for many years and Comforting Hands Hospice. The family will be forever grateful for the kindness and compassion they gave him. When Leroy was three years old his Mother passed away and his Dad married Lucille G. (Miller) Allen on December 23, 1939, they lived SW of Hammon, OK. Leroy graduated from Hammon High School in 1952, he played basketball and the rumor was he was the fastest guy on the basketball court and partner in crime was his cousin Melvin Pinkston. After graduation Leroy moved to Pueblo, Colorado to study telegraphy for Santa Fe Railroad, after finishing school his first job was being hired as an extra-board for the railroad in Skellytown, Texas. Leroy resided at the farm and working when he married Shirley (Cole) Allen in June 1956, to this union three sons were born: Gary Lee Allen, Michael Wayne Allen, and Donald Keith Allen. Leroy sacrificed not being with his family during the week and home weekends for 41 years with Santa Fe Railroad. Whatever town they were living in he would have the best-looking yard, biggest garden (which sharing his fruits of labor made him happy) he loved to rope, fish and hunt when he could and spend time with his family and friends. Leroy took pride and worked hard to provide for his family; his boys, grandkids, and great grandkids they were his pride and joy. On May 30, 2005 Leroy married Lilla F. (Creswell) Allen in Wheeler, TX, they made their home in Elk City, Oklahoma. They made many memories going on trips and vacations that he enjoyed so much. Leroy will be remembered as the best son, brother, husband, Dad, Papa, and friend and will be missed dearly. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 28, 2020 at Martin-Dugger Funeral Home Chapel, Elk City, Oklahoma. Dolan Ivey will officiate. Interment will be at Red Hill Cemetery, Elk City, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the care of Richard and Tammy Dugger and the staff of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home in Elk City, Oklahoma. Cherishing his memory is his wife Lilla, his dog Toby (he loved dearly) of the home; Gary & Sondra Allen, Hammon, Oklahoma, Mike Allen, Clinton, Oklahoma and Keith & Mary Allen, Cheyenne, Oklahoma; One stepdaughter, Shawna and Jacob Ozment; ten grandchildren, Tifaney Allen, Kayla & Nathan Bagheri, Blake & Sara Allen, Blaine & Courtney Allen, Aaron Hammer, Nicole Allen, Albert Allen, Kellie Allen, Brianna, and Miranda Allen. Fourteen great-grandchildren and one step granddaughter, Emersyn. Half-sister Kay Allen Stevens and her husband Leonard and niece and nephew in Florence, Alabama. He is preceded in death by his mother, Dad, and stepmother. Memorials can be made to the Red Hill Cemetery or the Cheyenne Education Foundation in care of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home, P.O.
