Born July 14, 1927, in Grimes, Okla., to Charles and Anna Childers Bobo of Texas, he was 73. He joined the U.S. Navy in February 1945 and served his country honorably for 20 years, retiring in 1964 as a chief petty officer. He had seen action in several wars, including World War II, the Korean conflict and the Vietnam War. A 20-year resident of Yolo County, he worked as the paint department manager at Davis Lumber & Hardware in Davis for 15 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 26 years, Marion Elizabeth (Gray) Bobo on Nov. 8, 2000, his brother, Raymond Bobo of Salinas, and his grandson, Clayton C. Bobo of Davis. He is survived by his sons, Russell W. Bobo and his wife Justine of Sacramento, Michael A. Evans and his wife Robyn of Woodland, and Jack L. Bobo Jr. and wife Sue of Rogue River, Ore. He is also survived by his daughters, Sandra Jean Bobo Roberts of Ontario, Canada, and Bambi Bobo of Texas; a stepson, Harold R. Smith of Sacramento; and a sister, Nancy Bobo Janson and her husband Phil of Reno, Nev. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Patrick, Richard, Brandon and Christina Bobo of Citrus Heights; Russell W. Bobo Jr. and Michael Nelson of West Sacramento; Charlie and Carol Bobo of Rogue River, Ore.; Tara Smith Tasheira of Modesto; and Melissa Smith Foust of Hawaii; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visitation is scheduled for today at 5 p.m. at Kraft Bros. Chapel in Woodland. A service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Kraft Bros. Private interment will follow at a later date, at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Salinas. The family requests memorials be directed to the Alzheimer's Aid Society of Northern California, P.O.
