The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ==================================================================== Surnames: Boswell, McCombs William Thomas (Tom) Boswell, 91, was born October 14, 1893 in Ryinze, Texas to William Thomas T. and Mary McCombs Boswell. He passed from this life Friday, August 23, 1985, in the Cheyenne Convalescent Home following a lengthy illness. Mr. Boswell went to Hamburg Community from Hobbs, New Mexico on horseback in 1917. He was married Nov. 22, 1923 to Rosetta Hensley in Sayre. In Feb. 1933 they moved to Strong City, then to Norh of Cheyenne in 1947 to make their home. He was one of the few remaining veterans of WWI and a stockman/rancher, one of the "old timer cowboys." Those who precede him in death were his parents, 3 sisters, 2 brothers and 2 grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Rosetta of the home; 2 daughters, Wanda Purcell of Cheyenne; Nelda Davis of Strong City, 1 son, Eldon Boswell of Cheyenne; 6 grandchildren; 5 great graandchildren and 1 sister, Jewell Kent of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Officiating at the fuineral services conducted Sunday afternoon, Aug. 25, 1982 at 3:00 p.m. were A.L. Martin and Aubrey Cowan with Nancy Cowan reading the poem "Cowboy's Prayer." Internment followed in the Strong City Cemetery, Strong City, Roger Mills County under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Services of Cheyenne. Pallbearers were grandsons, Arthur Trammell, Tom Davis, Jim Davis, Ronnie Jenkins, Mark Boswell and John Tom Boswell. --------------------------------------------------------------------
