Oh, when the room grew slowly dim And life's last oil was nearly sent, We could hear the angels singing As our dear old mother went. Something beautiful has vanished, And we sight for her in vain; We behold her everywhere, On the porch, and in the chair, But she never comes again. We are so lonely mother, Since your voice we loved is stilled But we shall meet you, oh dear mother, In the land of the Great Beyond Where there is no parting ever, And our tears and griefs are gone.
