The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. ==================================================================== Surnames: Bessire, Matthews, Pratt, Roper, Forrest Carl William Bessire was born in Monroe, Wisconsin April 22, 1890, and passed away at Amarillo, Texas, May 23, 1942; being 52 years, one month and one day of age at the time of his death. He moved to Oklahoma with his parents where he lived until he was 20 years of age. He went to Wisconsin where he married Maud Matthews June 18, 1914. Three children were born to this union, two grils and one boy; Florence and Billie of Jamesville, Wisc.; Mrs. Virgil Pratt of Los Angeles, Calif. With his family he moved back to Rankin, Okla., later moving to Erick, Okla. He joined the Baptist Church in 1925. Later he moved to Amarillo, Texas where he was married to Laura Roper and where he lived until his death. He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, three children, his mother and father, five brothers, one sister, Mrs. J.W. Forrest, Leo and Eddie Bessire of Reydon, Jess Bessire of Allison, Texas, Earnest Bessire of Exeter, Calif., Oscar Bessire of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, besides other nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Bill, as everyone called him, was loved by all who knew him. The funeral services were held in Reydon Monday, with the burial at the White Rose cemetery, Reydon, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with the Boxwell Bros. Funeral Home, Amarillo, in charge, assisted by the Fatheree Funeral Home of Reydon. --------------------------------------------------------------------
