He was born February 8, 1887 in Clark County, Illinois. The family left Illinois in covered waagons for Oklahoma and a month later were at Weatherford where they lived until they found a farm for sale near Rankin, Roger Mills County and moved there in 1906. He married Pearl Walters on Feb ruary 1911 in Cheyenne with Johnnie Martin of Dempsey officiating. He was a carpenter and moved to Oklahoma City for work. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, a brother Clinton and sisters, Ethel Beatty and Lucy Chandler. Survivors are a daughter, Maxine Schooley of Kentucky and son, Delmar L. Beatty of Oklahoma City, 2 grandchildren, 4 great greandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Memoriial Services were held by Lawrence Mattock at 1 p.m., Monday, March 1, 1982 in the Bill Merritt Chapel 6201 N.W. 39th. Interment in Memorial Park Cemetery, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
