Beaty who died Tuesday evening, June 14, 1927 was held Friday afternoon at the Baptist church in this city. This was one of the largest funerals ever held in our city. Mr. Beaty was a pioneer and highly respected which was evidenced by the large crowd. After scripure reading by Rev. Donnel, pastor of the Baptist Church, Rev. Wilson of the Methodist church led in prayer. Mrs. Virgil Hill of Elk City sand "Beautiful Isle of Somehwere" and Mrs. Chalfant sang "Face to Face". After the sermon by Rev. donnell, W.H. Mouser, a very close friend of Mr. Beaty's made a short talk in which he eulogized the deceased. at the graveside Hon.F.E. Herring of Oklahoma City concluded the services by paying personal tribute to Mr. Beaty and to the pioneers of west Oklahoma, in general. The floral offering was exceedingly large as friends far and near showed tribute to the decased and to the family. Active pall bearers were: F.E. Herring, C. Falconer, J.H. West, J.W. Cooper, J.M. Lester and W.B. Johnson. Honorary pall bearers were: J.P. Thurmond, William Hext, S.H. James, Frank Hunt, C.M. Combs, Sam Brown,. J.C. Thornton, T.L. Turner, S.F. Maddux, J.R. Casady, Mr. Parmaleee, J.J. Moore, Fayette Anderson, Ed Taylor, Oscar Casady, A.T. Sanders, George Prestridge, J.D. Taylor, W.P. Madden, John Cross, J.W. Dunn, Bill Combs and John C. Casady.
