John Beaty, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Beaty of this city, died at Norman, Oklahoma, Friday, December 18, 1918, being 35 years 9 months and 19 days old at the time of his death. John came to this city in the early 1890's and grew to young manhood under the same enviorment as did the editor of the Star. It was then a friendship was cultivated that endured until the time of his death, last Firday. We shall always cherish a fond recolection of those childhood days, when we two played our childish games and confided our secrets one to another. It is with a deep feeling of pain and sorrow that we record the death of such a friend. Funeral services were conducted at the Beaty home Sunday afternoon by Rev. W.E. Turner, pastor of the Baptist church, in the presence of many old friends of the deceased and family. Old schoolmates: Joe Tunnard, Judson Cunningham, Oscar Casady, Charles Cross, O.R. Prestridge and John Casady acted as pallbearers. The remains were quetly laid to rest in the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma beneath beautiful floral wreaths. --------------------------------------------------------------------
