Barrett. She passed away November 9, 2003 in Sayre Memorial Hospital, Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 71 years, 8 months and 2 days. Betty was married to Jim Beaty at the Sayre First United Methodist on June 8, 1963. She was a woman who truly loved the land and the cattle business. She knew livestock as well or even better than most individuals that spend an entire lifetime working with them. She found great pleasure in just watching the cattle out in the pasture. She also enjoyed hunting and fishing when time would allow and she and Jim loved to go dancing whenever possible. Betty had a long career in tax accounting. She began in 1963 with Harry Chapman's office in Cheyenne and continued in Cecil Bryan's office at Mangum in 1965. She later opened he5r own private practice at Buls, Oklahoma in 1982 where she remained until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Charles Barrett. Graveside services were held Tuesday, November 11, 2003 at 11;00 AM at the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma, officiated by Chuck Milner. Arrangemnts are under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Sayre, Oklahoma. Survivors include her husband, Jim Beaty, of the home; 1 daughter Carolyn Jo Beaty of Shamrock, Texas; 1 son, James A. Blancet of Reydon, Oklahoma; 1 granddaughter, Crystal Brown of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 1 grandson, James F. Blanscet of Amarillo, Texas; 2 sisters, Peggy A. Barrett of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico and Jane S. Barber of Sayre, Oklahoma; and a host of relatives and friends.
