Batchelor was born May 29, 1925 between Reydon and Cheyenne, OK to Willie Ann and William Henry Batchelor and passed away October 24, 1997 in the Sayre Memorial Hospital at the age of 72 years, 4 months and 25 days. Lonnie attended Reydon Schools. Lonnie entered the United States Army Air Corps in 1943 and continued to serve his country through World War II, the Korean War and the Veietman Conflict until his discharge in 1968. He flew 36 missions in the European Theatre and was shot down over Belgium. He received the Distrigusihed Flying Cross and 3 Purple Hearts during his distinguished career. Lonnie married Linda Leray Miller on March 22, 1968 in Lawrence, Mass. They moved to Midwest City, OK in March of 1968 and they later moved to Cheyenne, OK before moving to Burns Flat, OK in 1987 to make their home. He was a member of the Cheyenne First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Linda of the home; 3 daughters-Ann Reid of Portland, Or, Lou Barnes and Tammy Lowry both of Sayre; 3 sons William Henry Batchelor of Cheyenne, Kevin Batchelor of Chelsea and Harold Ray Batchelor of El Reno; 2 sisters Fannie Gray and Roberta Bonds, both of Sayre; 1 brother Charles Batchelor of Cheyenne; 18 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Services were Monday, October 24, 1997 at the Cheyenne First Baptist Church officiated by Terrell Romberg. Interment was at the Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. --------------------------------------------------------------------
